The New Beginnings Church of Christ feels that small group ministry is an excellent way to follow the example of the early church when they met house to house, and while doing so we get to know each other on a more personal level. Too often a Christian can be a member of a church for years and still hardly know anyone. Without a tight knit relationship with other Christians, it is much easier for one to fall away from what God wants us to do. The Bible uses an example in Acts 2:42, to give us a better understanding of how we are to be devoted to God and to one another.
Small groups differ from the traditional Sunday evening service in that Life Groups are people focused rather than building and event focused. Ministering, caring for each other's needs and encouragement happens naturally in Life Groups because of the greater connection with one another.
How the Life Groups work is fairly simple. Once a year, members sign up for a Life Group of their choice. Each group is made up of 6 to 12 adults and their children and is led by a trained leader. The groups meet in each other's homes each Sunday evening. With this layout you get the best of both types of services. On Sunday morning one gets the traditional services, where the congregation sings and gives all glory to God, but on Sunday nights the small groups also get to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of love, laughter, and fellowship with God being the center focus.
If you desire more intimate relationship with fellow Christians and God please consider joining a Life Group.
